If you have a friend with a musical talent, why not ask them to perform on your wedding day?
Three couples, whose weddings I filmed over the summer, did just that...
First there was Rebecca & Blair, who invited their friend, Claire to sing while they signed the register. Claire sung two songs, including the most beautiful version of Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' (I still cannot get enough of that song!) in the couple's family church in Tatsfield, adding a real personal touch to proceedings.
Next up there was Danielle and Simon, who celebrated their wedding at the Thursford Garden Pavilion in August. Instead of having their DJ play their first dance, the couple were serenaded by their friend, Adam, who sung James Bay's 'Move Together'. And it was a truly magical moment. This was just after they were introduced by Danielle's brother-in-law, who did the most amazing impression of the X Factor voiceover man though! Lols!
Then, over the August Bank Holiday, Rachel and Lloyd tied the knot in Great Yarmouth. During the couple's ceremony, their bridesmaid and professional singer, Ashley, gave the most incredible rendition of Pie Jesu. Their photographer, Tony Story, actually taught Ashley to sing, so it was a proud moment for him too, to see her perform.
Including friends, in this way, makes weddings not only unique, but incredibly personal. These one off performances are made all the more special because they are given by close friends of the bride and groom.
