It was back to my roots today … Beccles in Suffolk, the town in which I grew up, and went to school. But my destination and the venue on this occasion was The Waveney House Hotel, where I was filming the wedding of Vicky and Nathan … and what a joyous occasion it was with the River Waveney providing the perfect backdrop to their burgundy and silver themed day.
‘Romance dwells in moving waters’ according to the poet Connie Marcum Wong and today’s ceremony alongside the River Waveney certainly reflected that thought. With Vicky and Nathan’s daughters as bridesmaids… watch out for their entrance, it melts my heart every time I see it… the love and happiness filling the riverside venue was clearly in evidence.
After an emotional ceremony, guests mingled while the couple had their formal portraits taken and were then treated to a slap up meal in the dining room before the speeches started. There was a lovely touch by bestman Rob, who surprised Nathan by asking him to be his bestman in return at his upcoming wedding.
Following the wedding breakfast, there was some brilliant balloon modelling magic by entertainer ‘Tricky Twister’, which had both the children and adults in fits of giggles. The euphoria continued long into the night as Vicky and Nathan took to the floor for their romantic first dance to "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw. Vicky then had a beautiful father-daughter dance before guests joined them to really get the party started!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Sayer! I wish you a lifetime of wedded bliss together xoxo
