Diary of a Wedding Videographer {5}

May 29, 2017

This week, I get a bit sentimental finishing Jo & Geoff's wedding film and I invest in a new PC...

This week, I finished Jo & Geoff's full length wedding film and cinematic highlights.

Jo & Geoff are such a special couple, not just because they were the first people who ever booked me, but because the story of how they met is incredible. Their lives crossed paths so many times before they eventually found each other, that there is no doubt they were truly destined to be together.

Jo & Geoff celebrated their wedding day at the gorgeous Knight's Hill Hotel in King's Lynn with an intimate ceremony, and great party afterwards with their family and friends. There was a real mix of laughter and tears on their big day, which I have tried to portray in their film, and I feel very privileged to have played a small part in it.

Here's a sneak peak at their teaser trailer...

I have to say, as well, the lighting during Jo & Geoff's first dance was absolutely magical, so much so, that I decided to leave my camera light off, to capture the moment in it's true glory.

Now, I'm not always lucky enough to see my brides and grooms after their wedding day, but as Jo & Geoff only live round the corner, I was able to deliver their film personally (with the help of my 4 year old apprentice lol) and was able to catch up with the couple and hear all about life since their big day, which was lovely.

I like to try and find unique gift boxes, in which to present my wedding films, and knowing that Jo was a great lover of animals, and that the couple had a purple colour theme on their wedding day, I found a box with peacocks and butterflies on it and filled it with purple tissue. Little did I know, that where Jo & Geoff live, is a muster of peacocks that frequently visit them!

I'm going to have a minor geek out now, so bear with me... To say that my old PC was slooooow, would be an understatement. For years, I put up with an i3 processor to work on my films, and with a busy summer of shooting and editing ahead of me, I decided to invest in a new machine.

After a bit of research and some expert advice from my IT guru (Hi, Brian!), I plumped for an Alienware Gaming PC with an i7 processor.

Wowsers, is it good?! It has speeded up my editing and export time considerably, which means that I can work so much more efficiently, I just wish I'd bought it sooner.

It also has a cute alien face on it! Lol!
