Real Life Brides' Top Advice - It's Your Day
Over the next few weeks, I will be bringing you a series of blogs featuring advice from real brides, whose weddings I filmed in 2016.
This week, Tessa and Nikki give you their thoughts on what really counts on your wedding day...
Tessa... "My biggest advice would be to remember that it's your day, not anyone else's, so whilst they may want to share their opinion, all that really matters is that, you and your partner, are happy with it."
Nikki... "My top bit of advice would probably be.. do what YOU want to do, invite who YOU want to invite and don't treat a wedding like a competition. Make it your own and add your personal touch and don't worry about anyone else, make it how you want it!!"
It's all too easy to get caught up in the politics of planning a wedding. Will people be upset if they're not invited? Will your guests enjoy the day? How does your wedding compare to everyone else's?
As Tessa and Nikki, quite rightly said, these things are inconsequential. Your wedding day, is exactly that, YOUR wedding day, nobody else's.
While it's nice to consider people's opinions and think about what your guests may prefer on the day, your wedding day is, ultimately, for you and your partner to become legally married. Emotions always run high when weddings are involved, but keep in mind that it's also a day for you and your partner to look back on and remember as your own, filled with the things that are most important to you.
