Over the next few weeks, I will be bringing you a series of blogs featuring advice from real brides, whose weddings I filmed in 2016.
This week, Lizzie talks about including family and friends in your planning process (and also the benefits of being organised)...
"Make sure you have deadlines throughout the planning process and stick to them - I didn't plan or prepare properly, and spent the last week frantically ordering things off amazon, rushing about and being up until 3am the morning of the wedding doing the finishing touches!
I would also say involve your family and friends as much as possible - it would've been impossible to do it all without them. We will always have wonderful memories of our two pageboys and flower girl helping to decorate the Christmas tree, and rewarding themselves with chocolates off the tree for their hard work!"
Most people, I know, myself included, have spent the day before their wedding buying, making or adding the finishing touches to their big day. Part of me thinks it's unavoidable, I mean how far in advance can you really take decorations to your reception venue? However, with a little careful planning, your last day can be full of fun jobs that add to the excitement of your wedding day.
I also love the fact that Lizzie made a beautiful lasting memory with her pageboys and flower girl too. I bet they had so much fun helping to decorate the Christmas as well as eating the chocolates off it! More and more brides are opting to be hands on with the decorating of their venues, which is wonderful. It makes their wedding day so much more personal and memorable to them.
