Over the next few weeks, I will be bringing you a series of blogs featuring advice from real life brides, whose weddings I filmed in 2016.
This week, Becca talks about you can make your wedding unique to you.
With nearly a quarter of a million marriages occurring in England and Wales every year (See the stats on www.ons.gov.uk here) how do you make your wedding stand out? Quite simply, keep it personal to you...
"I think the best piece of advice I can give is - it's your wedding, so do things your way. It's easy to worry about what other people will think, but you can't please everyone! Express yourself with your own ideas - dare to be different instead of following whatever is on-trend or traditional. Your day should celebrate you as a couple and reflect your personal tastes, not be planned around what people expect of you.
And whatever you do...don't look at the weather forecast! You can't change it, so it's not worth worrying about. Your day will still be perfect (Although I read this piece of advice many times and didn't believe it myself!)"
It's all too easy to get caught up in the latest wedding trends or compare your wedding to other people's for example, but Becca is right, if you let your personality shine through, your wedding day will be totally unique to you.
And, of course, you cannot control the weather! With 10 minutes to go, Becca & Dane decided to keep their wedding ceremony outside and, I'm so pleased that they did, as it was absolutely beautiful.
