Real Life Brides' Top Advice - Planning

Over the next few weeks, I will be bringing you a series of blogs featuring advice from real life brides, whose weddings I filmed in 2016.

This week, Shona talks about the best way to organise your wedding planning to keep everything running smoothly and also keep the groom involved.

The majority of couples, I speak to, tell me the same thing. The bride-to-be plans the finer details of their wedding day with a variety of notebooks, folders, lists and spreadsheets. I did exactly the same thing. And let's face it, planning a wedding can be a full time job!

However, how do you keep your groom involved and up-to-date in the planning process? September Bride, Shona gives us her top tips...

"... it surprised me how much my groom was stressing and whilst I had a fab notebook to plan everything, when it was getting to the crucial final couple of months he couldn't tell what was left to do.

So If I did it all again, I would do what I eventually did, and invest in sharpie markers and a big bit of paper, pin it to a door you go through everyday and write down everything left to do/plan however big or small.

It's surprising how the list starts to go down once your other half visually sees what tasks are left and less stress for yourself!"

Such a simple, yet effective idea! Thank you Shona!
